More affordable?

I force myself to listen to both sides of the story - as painful as it is to listen to the loons who have somehow gained control of our country. In listening to them, they keep saying that government run health care will be "more affordable to ALL Americans". Blatant lie. Blatant.

First of all, millions of the un-insured Americans don't even WANT insurance. They are employed and/or can easily afford it , but CHOOSE not to have it some are healthy, some are "self-insured, and others just don't care). So why are we budgeting to cover THEM? That gets paid for by the taxpayer.

Next group of the un-insured are those that are here in OUR country ILLEGALLY!!! The taxpayers will pay for these as well. (Obama is doing everything he can to make them legal citizens so they can be covered - and, of course, so they will vote for him.)

Next group of the un-insured are the dead beats that are sucking off of us taxpayers already - just add this to the list.

Of course, there is also the group of people who want coverage and want to pay for them ON THEIR OWN, but either don't have them available through their job or they just aren't employed or can't afford them. That group is MUCH MUCH smaller than the total $47 million un-insured. But if Obama would just focus on creating jobs, like he promised to do when campaigning, this last group would take care of themselves. I have been in this group in the past, as many of us have at one time or another.

So enter government run healthcare. Companies will lose MILLIONS of their employees to a "cheaper" government program (foolish mistake - don't do it!!). This will cause their insurance companies to RAISE their costs to those of us who don't go with the government option because they have fewer clients. Some companies will have to LAY PEOPLE OFF to be able to afford the portion of healthcare they pay for as the employer.

Far more people will jump on the government run program than anticipated because employer's cannot remain competitive with the government pricing since the government fools us into to thinking that their program can be successful running AT A LOSS - just take a look at Social security and Medicare. TAXES WILL BE RAISED OUT OF CONTROL IN ORDER TO PAY FOR THIS ONSLAUGHT OF NEW MEMBERS!!!!!

So, in the end, we end up with ONLY the government run program. First of all, we still pay for it directly each month. Secondly, our taxes go through the roof in order to pay for it. Even worse though is what will happen to our sales taxes on items like ice cream, burgers, soad, candy, etc ...... because the government is paying for our healthcare, they will also try to detour us from enjoying things like ice cream and such (don't believe me? why do they already have these taxes on cigarettes, gas, alcohol?????).

So we actually end up paying FAR MORE for health care tomorrow than we are paying today AND we get told what we can and cannot eat ..... all so we can get WORSE coverage. Worse because there will be 20% more insured almost overnight and there are NO WHERE NEAR ENOUGH Doctor's to see all of us. It will take several deacades to train enough doctors (I will literally be dead of old age by then and I am only 35 today). Healthcare will be "rationed" and mis-diagnosing patients will run rampid due to Doctor's being hurried to see as many people as they can - since they will be compensated, via our tax money, based on the number of patients they see and the number of "problems" they diagnose.

If you have ANY sense whatsoever, you are calling your congress man or woman NOW and telling them to stop government run health care AT ALL COST!!!

  1. Your comments about the number of Dr.'s available is right on but let me take it one step further. We have the best doctors that money can buy
(just look at your last medical bill if you don't believe me). If the government tells these doctors that they are putting an across the board price-tag on their procedures, then these former six and seven figure per year doctors will be reduced to making mere pennies on the dollar that they are used to making. They will take their practices overseas to another free-market country leaving us with the D average doctors that barely made it through Med-school or aquired their M.D. through an on-line course.
If your child had to have an operation, who would you want performing it?
This could even spill over into "affirmative action" which this POTUS definately is trying to expand on so I'll wait on further comments til you broach that subject.

  2. Mackey - as you might remember, I have a brother who is a Doctor. He get's paid a lot of money. He does so because he, A: is worth it, and B: his patients are obviosuly WILLING to pay him that much.

As you say, once the government starts telling them how LITTLE they are going to be willing to pay them, the GOOD Doctors are going to be forced to chase the money in another country. They can't just lose 2/3 of their income.

If I were having a major surgery, I would want the MOST EXPENSIVE doctor available to perform it. The CHEAPEST guy is the guy who barely passed Med School - and that is all we will be left with if the government shoves this down our throats the way they want to.

Right on man - thanks for the comments!!

  3. So, Bryan & Mackey.... very interested to hear how affirmative action can be put in place in *this* particular area. I don't doubt it at all, I am just not able to picture the particulars and would love to hear you guys expound on this. Thx!

  4. I am making an effort to stay away from affirmative action. Only because I know someone will scream "racism". But I have 5 words for how Healthcare has a lot to do with affirmative action: Van Jones and Charlie Rangel.

That is a serious comment by the way - wow, those two are so racist. And they are some of BHO's top advisor's. Sad.

On topic though, I have no idea what Mackey is talking about. But here is my opinion on what he brings up - it is definitely something I am worried about. The scare I see with affirmative action and healthcare is centered mostly on speculation of "rationing" healthcare. I think rationing will be inevitable, completely un-avoidable under government run healthcare. I am not a racist. Obama, however, is surrounded with racists. Racists that HE has exalted to these "czar" positions. Positions that they were not voted into and cannot be voted out of. Those same racists will be influencing the lawmakers that make the laws that direct doctors, and eventualy the 1 insurance company that will be left standing after they introduce the public option, on how to ration their services - or more specifically, WHO to ration them to. "Entitlement" is the foundation of affirmative action. People who try to link affirmative action to Civil Rights are mistaken. They are un-related, or at least should be. Obama has reached the position he is in by doing favors, receiving favors, and promising favors. He has no doubt received more than he has given - his debtors will come to call. Rationing will be his next logical step - a step that will prove to be a move towards massive class warfare (possibly racially motivated in some regions) and widespread civil disruption.

Mackey - if this is what you were thinking too, I hope we are wrong; but you are a part of an intuitive group that is looking down the road beyond just "insuring the un-insured". It will escalate to levels we are not even having nightmares about yet!!
