I thought the POTUS was supposed to be a representative of "We the People"? ALL of the people. That doesn't mean we all have to agree on policy, but it does mean that he has to believe in the Constitution and be an example of how to be a Patriot.
Why then does he continue to mock the citizens of this country? Today, in Montana, he cautioned one of the questioners about watching cable news. REALLY??
Folks, that is called INTIMIDATION. Far from being the first time he has gone the intimidation route. Amongst countless statements this "King-Wanna-Be" has made, there are more subtle tactics being put into place. This President has been in more PRIME TIME "Promoting-My-Personal-Agenda" TV appearances than the last President did in EIGHT YEARS. (OK, the same # of prime time shows). Remember, Bush had 9/11 to deal with and STILL only had 4 prime time appearances in 8 years. Obama has 4 in 7 months.
This President is so arrogant, he can't stand not seeing himself on TV for more than a few weeks. They actually cancelled American Idol one time just so he could talk (about WHAT??). How sad is this? Confidence is great for the POTUS, but arrogance has NO place in the White House.
Our Freedom of Speech and our Right to Assemble are in SERIOUS danger. This POTUS wants the stage for himself. Let your voice be heard. Call your congressman or woman. Change starts with "We the People". This President is trying to change that. If you care about this country, DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN!! Your kids will thank you!!

What I find really serious about the President's repeated comments regarding news channels he disagrees with, is he is creating an atmosphere of doubt and suspicion amongst his less-than-discerning followers. Make them suspicious of the motives of these other news channels, and they will be even less likely to give their fact-finding any serious consideration. Freedom of the press not only means we do not ban political speech with which we disagree, but it should also mean that the POTUS does not warn people against hearing it, giving it the appearance of being illegitimate. Encourage wise consideration of all facts in every situation, but do not merely dismiss or shun opposing viewpoints that are held by such a wide selection of the people you represent.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. To add to that, let me tell people WHY he is taking this approach. He is trying to PERSONALIZE things. This is a tyrannical tactic. Personalizing things strikes people in the heart. As dissappointing as it is, his comments are gaining him fans in certain arenas. Thankfully, our country is not to the point where those paticular arenas are the majority. Not yet. It will take ALL PATRIOTS speaking out to keep us from getting there.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment!

Can I just say I am so tired of him having to comment on everyone who disagrees with him as if he is an arrogant, no one understands me, has to have the last word,13 year old boy. I mean he won't even go on the different news channels (or the one major news channel) that quetions him and what he is doing. If that news channel was so far off base, wouldn't you think he would want to go on one of their shows and correct them and make a fool of them? But no, he wants to bash them and any other US citizen who stands up in protest behind their backs to his lackeys.
ReplyDeleteThe analogy of the "has to have the last word, 13 year old boy" sums up his character so perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI gotta agree with that Cari. "Character" is it. But America knew this from the very beginning of the election. He socializes with some of the dirtiest characters in the country ...... yet America didn't want to believe that he could possibly have a character like those people himself ......... let's hope that majority has realized what we minority realzed over a year ago. 2010 is quite possibly going to be the single biggest turning point in our country's recent history. The Congressional elections are going to be CRUCIAL.
ReplyDeleteTammy - you are right on. He is throwing a fit in the White House ..... we need to make sure we give him a whooping for it though and not a sugar-tit.
