I don't know about you, but when my family puts together a budget, we have to make absolute sure of ONE thing: more money cannot go out than comes in. It's that simple. This rule is not up for debate. If we don't follow this rule, we will not be able to keep our home, our car, our kids, etc. We have to either make more money, spend less money, or some combination of the two.
Every responsible family is held to these same standards. Every profitable business is held to these standards. Churches are even held to this simple math. So why then isn't our Government? If a family cannot sustain itself outside of a balanced budget, a business collapses without it, and even a church is forced to disband if they cannot balance income and expenses, how is it that our government can do it?
The answer is scary, but is not without a simple solution. A very simple solution. After all, it's basic math. We're taught it all the way back in primary school. The answer is that the government CANNOT sustain itself either.
Example: GREECE.
Greece is a beautiful country to visit, I'm sure. But Greece is a Socialist nation and as we all know, they are in the middle of a full economic collapse, violant riots, and financial bail outs right now (much of which AMERICA is directly paying for). So their government has an endless list of entitlement programs (expenses) and no incentive for individuals or businesses to make more money (so they are not increasing income through taxation). More going out than coming in is bad. Some think that a tax INCREASE will fix this math ....... uh, Greece already has an average personal tax rate that is over 33% HIGHER than here in the United States!!!
Now take a look back at that description of Greece.
The description of the United States is not so different. High personal taxes, even higher corporate taxes, huge amounts of expenses tied up in entitlement programs, and less and less incentives for American businesses to create jobs. This all leads to higher unemployment, a higher burden on the entitlement programs to support the unemployed, higher taxes to support the entitlement programs, MORE job losses so employers can afford the higher taxes that support the entitlement programs for the unemployed ..... UH-OH. Anyone catch what just happened there. We just created a self-destructing circle. When that happens, something in the circle has to change. If nothing changes, self-destruction occurs.
Cause and effect is inevitable. I know our current President and his administration (and other POTUS's before him by the way) seem to think that their decisions are immune from the cause and effect principle that guides the rest of us, but they are not. You cannot effect one thing without it effecting another - and so on and so on .... Think back to school and the "ecosystem". Better yet, think back to "The Lion King" and "The circle of Life". In other words, like it or not, we are all in this thing together. You impact me. I impact you.
So higher personal taxes (more income for the government), is NOT the answer. Just look at Greece.
Some would argue that corporate taxes are the problem and that America is not collecting enough in taxes from it's businesses ....... WRONG. Corporate taxes in the US are tied with Japan for the highest in the world!!!!!
More entitlement programs is NOT the answer. Do I really need to explain that any further?
Printing money is NOT the answer. Eeventually the countries that lend us money will want to be re-paid. Not to mention, printing too much money can cause severe inflation and devalue the dollar to the point of bankruptcy.
Quick recap: taxing the people doesn't save you, so stop leaning on the wealthy to support everyone (eventually, the rich run out of money and then what?). Corporate taxes can't save you, so stop demonizing the very companies that are there to provide us with income!!! Entitlement programs, no matter how much you tax the country, cannot sustain themselves. One fact about entitlement programs that is undeniable: if there is a "free ride" being offered, the ride will be full and it will have a long line of people waiting to get on it!! And obviously we cannot just continue to borrow money from other countries so we can print more of it.
We are doomed ......
Ah, but I haven't talked about the other half of the equation: the spending. We are spending too much. No question about that. We have got to cut back on spending. Surely THAT will save us, right? Not by itself it won't. We could cut down spending by Billions and 10's and 100's of Billions and it will NOT save us. The reason it won't save us is because businesses are being sent a message by our government that they are not welcome here. That's why so many jobs are being shipped overseas. If businesses continue to leave and we continue to lose jobs, we are just spinning around in that self-destructing circle we talked about.
In short, THE GOVERNMENT CANNOT SAVE US. So who can?
The short answer is this: WE MUST SAVE OURSELVES. Yes, DRASTICALLY cut down on spending. Also, encourage our people and businesses to make money by penalizing us LESS (lower taxes on all fronts) and creating an enviroment where businesses will want to create jobs HERE IN AMERICA. Hand in hand with this, our borders MUST be protected from illegal immigrants who are STEALING the few jobs that we have!! Lastly, this world made it centuries and centuries without a single entitlement program. We can survive without them again if we put our minds to it. Family, Church, and community will take on these responsibilities WILLINGLY if the Government just gets out of the way. The government has to shrink itself and hide in the corner if WE THE PEOPLE are to take this country back again. The private sector needs the confidence to create jobs. Jobs will give consumers the confidence to spend. Spending money that we actually have will balance things out again. DEBT, whether it's the government or the individual, MUST BE STOPPED.
So, the answer is simple - spend less than you make. The commitment needed to make a difference, "Live within your means", is not so simple. "I want it all and I want it now" is the cultural hurdle that keeps us from making the sacrifices needed to financially balance our lives and country. WE have to make sacrifices if WE are going to save this country.
Stop mooching off the government, stop voting corrupt people into government, stop living beyond your financial means, stop "playing the victim", and start holding YOURSELF accountable for your decisions. Become active in local and regional politics. Be knowledgable of what impact "cause and effect" has on every level of our financial world. In other words, play a productive role in the circle of life. BE AN EXAMPLE.

To Limit or Not To Limit
Term Limits for Representatives and Senators. With all the low-hanging corrupt political fruit to grab and chew to pieces, some will wonder why I am choosing to bring up "term limits". The answer is simple. We all agree that American politics are corrupt. Both in terms of process and personnel. The process is a result of the personnel though. As some like to say, we need to deal with the disease, not the symptons.
First, I do not want to imply that every elected official becomes corrupt. A very minute amount do not. This post is not about that immeasurably small minority though. It is about the majority of our elected officials, who do become corrupt; which is our biggest opportunity to bring real change and reform to our government. Think about it for a second. Since 1968, the House has a re-election rate of NINETY-FIVE PERCENT!! The Senate has almost 85%!! The government, those very elected officials, are the ones responsible for transforming the country into what it is today. We the people are ultimately responsible for their actions. We allowed this corruption by allowing the SAME elected officials to run the country year after year.
So what are the pro's and con's of term limits?
Some pro's:
- favors "meritocracy" by downgrading "seniority"
- reduces the power and influence of the lobbies and bureaucracy
- it will help in the fight against wasteful spending by removing powerful politicians that get in bed with pet projects that turn into out of control "keep me getting re-elected" projects
- it will encourage fresh ideas and current representation
- encourages more voter participation because it won't be the same old names on the ballot every year
- encourages voters to vote on principle instead of popularity
- gets real Americans running this country, instead of "politicians"
- will reduce corruption by making it difficult for alliances to bully junior politicians
Some con's:
- gets rid of the few good elected officials that we have
- encourages corruption to be passed on by having corrupt outgoing politicians endorse their replacement
- loss of knowledge and experience in our representatives
- exposure to electing the "latest trend"
There are more of each, but I really am struggling to come up with con's. Please give me your input on both.
I am in favor of term limits because the good outweighs the bad here. In regards to the concern of "we lose good elected officals", let me say this. If they truly are good at what they do, they will have a proven track record to show us, right? If they truly care about us, they will back a candidate that will continue on their principles. Ideally, that candidate would have some track record of their own that supports that they are closely aligned to the outgoing official. Make sense? Of course there is room for corruption in this - as there is with ANYTHING in a free country. This gives us a real opportunity to scrutinize them though - instead of just voting on their name recognition.
One of the biggest problems with no term limits is the "seniority" problem in our system. If you don't know how it works, here it is in a nutshell. The longer you have been in position, the more "senior" you are. The senior officals get "first call" when committees are formed. Every major law that is passed is brought to Congress by the committee that is appointed to draft the "Bill". So, mediocre officials, that are senior based only on tenure not ability, are the ones that head up every major Bill that goes in front of Congress for a vote. Talk about exposing ourselves to deep, deep corruption.
I could spend several BLOG entries on "Seniority vs. Merit". Man I get fired up over that process. But again, term limits would not allow the same people to be in charge of these committees for years and even DECADES on end!! This alone should be enough to sway any nay-sayers.
Secondly, I would argue that having new names on the ballots more often would encourage, if not force, voters to better research the candidates before voting for them just because they recognize their name. This in itself would expose corruption and encourage more Americans to vote and even run for office.
Voting ballots are part of the problem as well though. Let's face it, most Americans check the box of the party they most closely associate themselves with. That tends to get the same people elected again and again since the people voting each year are usually the same people that voted the last time. Remove the candidate's party affiliation from the ballot.
Campaign reform is a must whether we inact term limits or not. Too much to go into here, but the laws around campaigning are no less corrupt than the politicians taking advantage of voters. The guy with the most money (legal or otherwise) and most recognizable name wins.
Another factor that ties directly into this is immigration reform. President Bush used "amnesty for illegals" as a political tool to buy votes. It worked. President Obama is trying to use that exact same trick himself right now. Any law that is so obviously used to buy votes should be considered unconstitutional at worst and treasonous at best - I say treasonous because making ILLEGALS (that is CRIMINALS) equal citizens to you and I is unforgiveable. This is corruption in plain view, yet we do nothing about it.
Combine these things and you have reform that the people will actually benefit from. This is a deep conversation and I have only scratched the surface. I will close with one of the things I opened with: we have got to focus on the disease, NOT the symptons!!

We MUST Stop OUR Government!!
So everyone should know by now that the House voted late last night and, after many bribes and backroom deals, passed the Senate's Obamacare Bill - with NO alterations whatsoever. So who really knows what's in the Bill? It is painful to research, but I want to share with everyone the main points of the Bill.
Take a minute to read these and then let's talk about how important it is that we REPEAL this Bill IMMEDIATELY!!! Post comments here on my BLOG or on my Facebook fan page by the same name.
- Effective IMMEDIATELY, Health Insurance companies will no longer be able to deny people with pre-existing conditions. This is actually listed as a "pro" on liberal and statist BLOGs. How is this going to help? If you have a "risk pool", which is what insurance companies have, and you intentionally add SICK people to it, you have no choice but to INCREASE your premiums so you can offset the cost of the liability you were just forced to accept. Premiums will go up for everyone, even the low income families Obama has manipulated into supporting him. And we will lose jobs due to insurance companies having to lay off to find profit to make up for the hit they will take from this requirement. Sound positive to you? Now, there is a way to reform this portion of the Bill to help those with pre-existing conditions. This isn't it though.
- 33 MILLION Americans (Americans? ya' right, not all of them) will begin receiving Health Insurance through a massive expansion of Medicaid and the creation of State-run insurance exchanges (co-ops or "pools"). Again, this is cited as a major "pro" of the Bill. In reality, this throws money at an already broken program and increases everyone's Premiums even more (on top of what the first bullet point will do). You can't add freeloaders to a risk pool without the risk level increasing. Whenever this happens, costs go up for all. Problem 2 with this "pro" is that it increases the number of patients our already short-staffed medical personnel will be seeing by FIFTEEN PERCENT!! So we are already short on Doctor's and we are going to increase their client base by 15%...... supply and demand tells me that either they will raise their prices or lower their quality of service - or most likely a combination of the two. And the doctor's will have to deal with all of this while at the same time receiving a decrease in their reimbursements for MediCare patients. The rest of us will be charged to make up differences. I ask again, how is this a "pro"?
- So here is a "con" by anyone's standards, except for those 200+ Democrats that voted in favor of it anyway - Beginning in 2014, if you choose not to have Health Insurance for any reason whatsoever, you will be FINED $695 by our Government. That amount is based on premiums going down of course. They will not go down though and that fine will have to be drastically increased if it is to accomplish it's goal. So, for the first time in our country's history, you are being told by the government how to spend your hard-earned money. If you defy the Kings and Queens, you will be FINED. This is NOT Democracy. This is Tyranny. This is enslavement disquised as ..... oh, actually they aren't even trying to disguise it anymore are they? They are openly beating us into submission.
- Employers with 50 or more employees will be fined $2000 per employee if they do not provide them with health Insurance. Here is how that plays out in the real world: the employer that has 55 or 60 (or even 70 employees), instead of paying $100,000+ a year in fines, is most likely going to lay off people until he has 49 employees. More unemployment means more burden on the rest of us. And what is his motivation to create jobs? Not going to happen. He is going to stay at 49. But let's say he doesn't lay them off and he pays the fine instead (as if!!). He still has to make a profit, so he increases his costs to the consumer for whatever it is he is selling (product, service, etc.)! This translates to less sales for him and less revenue collected by the IRS, not to mention more layoffs. All of this means more burden on the taxpayer and will also mean higher Insurance Premiums for all.
Let's points out a few other by-products of this mess:
- Doctor's near retirement age will opt for early retirement and close their practices because of the unreasonable environment our government will be creating for them. This means layoffs. This also means even less Doctor's, which means even higher Premiums and lower quality service.
- Small businesses everywhere will be pushing their employee's to join State pools so they can lesson the burden on themselves - which will create further burden on the taxpayers.
- "Debt to Income" ratios across the country will increase, leaving less and less money to spend back into our economy. This means drastically less sales tax collected by the states, which leads to increased Payroll Taxes and Property Taxes.
- With so little money being spent by consumers, the Real Estate market will truly collapse. Not the 15-25% drops in value we have seen over the past 4 years - I am talking 40-50% drops from CURRENT lowered values. This will cause unheard of unemployment in the construction industry, banking industry, and on and on right down the line.
- This is a platform for our government to propose and pass more Socialist programs like Obamacare. The precedent has been established.
- Our elected officials no longer have to listen to the will of the people. Again, the precedent has been set based on the corrupt manor in which they passed this Bill.
Everything is tied to everything else here folks. The circle of life is being artificially tampered with and this will create uncertainty like we have never seen in our history. Our country will go further into debt and our debtors WILL call on us for repayment. And they will do it when we are at our lowest, when they fear that their chances of every being re-paid are all but lost. We won't have the means to repay them. This is where wars start people. Real wars. Real death. With the technology of today's world, another World War would cause death and destruction on a level even the most disgusting video game has not imagined.
Think I am taking this too far? After all, what harm can come from trying to help people recieve medical attention and save money? As I say above, our economy is linked to everything we touch. Even the smallest uncertainty can change our financial position for years. Health care is 16% of our entire economy. Imagine how devistating this could possibly be.
But we still have a voice. We still have a platform of our own. We still have the means to turn this around. We still have the intelligence, the desire, and the tools to take this country back. We still have a vote people! It seems to be all we have left that our corrupt government cannot ignore. One little vote in Massachussetts in January caused the entire ObamaCare agenda to change strategies. They had to skirt around so many procedures and policies to get the senate Bill passed that even they have lost track of their corruption and back room deals. All because of 1 election in 1 state. Imagine the scare we could give them if we repalced 20 of these corrupt politicians (on both sides of the isle!!!)!!!! Imagine if we replaced 30 of them?!?!? That is where it starts people. We need to replace every last one of them, but we need to start somewhere. The next time we have a shot at doing this is in November of THIS YEAR. We cannot lose focus or enthusiasm between now and then. We have to hold people accountable. If we do not, they will hold us enslaved.
I love this country. I am taking it back from the corrupt elites. Please join the fight.

Freedom From Corruption
This BLOG entry is going to seem "extreme" to some of you. Extreme because it goes against the machine. Extreme because it calls on politicians to put "We The People" ahead of their personal agendas. Extreme because it calls on the President to protect Americans FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. Extreme because it requires ACTION!!!
It is really rather simple though. We are the "United States of America". "of America" referring to "the Americas", North and South. "States" referring to 50 SEPARATE states. And "United" referring to the common belief the residents of those 50 states share, known as The Charters of Freedom. Don't know what those are? Take a few minutes to explore the link and the 3 Charters. No, really - please read and understand them - all of them.
I explain the above before explaining my "extreme" proposal for a reason. Our Country is going through some hard times right now. No one would argue this. We have out of control spending, out of control borrowing, out of control debt, out of control corruption, out of control arrogance, and we have a country that desperately NEEDS a Leader that will help protect us from this corruption and these idealogues, not one that will enable them.
Here is the good news - The United States of America already has an instrument in place to stop ALL of the above. The key here is returning to the roots of our Country's founding. The individual STATE within a UNION. All 50 states have the ability to protect themselves from the Federal Government by remembering this simple fact. All 50 states have the ability to boot the Federal Government out of THEIR business. That is why the founders of this Nation created individual States within the Union (do not confuse this with State Sovereignty" - that cannot exist within a Union). If they had intended all States to fall under ONE law, they would have created ONE Sovereign State and they would not have named our Country The UNITED States of America. They seceded from the tyranny of Britian so that ONE State could never again DICTATE to the masses.
That's it. It's that simple. ****THAT'S IT? This is EXTREME? Doesn't sound very extreme to me!!!****
Let's shed a little "perspective" on things. The Progressives have slowly (and brilliantly) implemented changes over the decades that have conditioned us to accept our States the way they are today - which is NOT how those that originally formed our States intended them to be. They have infiltrated and manipulated all levels of Government, as well as "We The People". We have been conditioned to accept things the way they are with little to no challenge given to those that have so diligently corrupted our great Nation. We play the part of the helpless victim and wait for "someone else" to fix things. WE THE PEOPLE have got to take back OUR Country.

Progressives have added the 16th and the 17th ammendments that restrict the 10th Ammendment somewhat. It is up to the STATES to reassert themselves on the basis of the 10th Ammendment. Read it carefully. EVERY state can INDIVIDUALLY create a common UNION within this Country if they step up to the plate and STOP THE TYRANNY of our Federal Government.

Yes he is an idealogue and a Statist, but he is only a figure-head for the Progressive Movement (the current one anyway). That line of defense has obviosly failed WE THE PEOPLE. So, the next "Line of Defense" needs to stop this attack on our Country.
That next Line of Defense is US. It is you and me. It is time for every citizen to step up and DO SOMETHING. Whether or not you support ObamaCare is irrelevant. The PRINCIPAL of having the Federal Government FORCE something on American Citizens is the problem. TYRANNY is the problem!!

Calling out PRGRESSIVISM
Today, I attack Obama and the Progressive horse he road in on. As I was reminded this past weekend, PROGRESSIVISM is the real problem here, not Barack Obama. I get so mad at Obama that I sometimes forget this. Progressivism is a step toward Socialism and Socialism is a step toward Communism.
Liberals get upset when a patriotic American calls Obama a Socialist. So I am going to list some actual Obama quotes. You decide if he is a Socialist:
"Our individual salvation depends on our collective salvation." ----- OK, so Obama is going to save us all I guess? If every American would clean up their own dirty laundry and the government would stay out of our business, the collective salvation would be a bi-product of our individual salvation - which can only come from within, not forced by the hand of a tyrannical government through forced "conversions".
Next quote: "It's time for a new beginning, for an end to government of the few, by the few, and for the few, and to replace it with shared responsibility for shared prosperity." ----- OK, that's not B.O. (Barack Obama), but it still stinks ..... it's B.O.'s hand-picked Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. You CAN judge people by the company they keep (not sure what that says about me!!).
Speaking of friends, here is B.O.'s thoughts on his personal choices: "I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students, the Chicanos, the Marxist Professors and structural feminists. " ---- Yes, this is an actual and accurate quote. This is the President of the UNITED States???? Does he sound like he really wants us to be UNITED? Absolutely not. He should be impeached for this mindset. We should be ashamed of him. "I chose my friends carefully" --- like Jeremiah Wright, Hillary Clinton, Van Jones, William Ayers, Chris Dodd, Joe Biden, and the list goes on ..... and yes, I AM ashamed.
Who said this - Hillary or Obama???: "Our nation can achieve permanent health only from within on the basis of the principle: The common interest before self-interest."
Kind of a trick question. Neither of them said it. Sounds just like them both though, doesn't it? That's because it is a page out of the Progreesive manual. A progressive manual that turned into all out tyranny, that turned into mass genecide. So, who said it? A man who would come to be known as the murderer of almost 10,000,000 Jews said it. Adolf Hitler. Hitler began his reign as a radical progressive. Don't forget that Hitler actually had millions and millions of people that supported and idolized him.
Hillary did say this though: "We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good." She actually said this at a Democratic rally back in 2004. And our beloved POTUS appointed HER to be the Secretary of State. We should not be surprised. They are both self-proclaimed progressives. If B.O. had not been pushed into the picture - thanks in no small part to Oprah and friends - Hillary would have been the Democratic nominee and most likely the POTUS right now. I wonder if she would have appointed B.O. to the SOS position had she been elected POTUS???
As the Progressives have been saying for the past 2 years (actually much longer, but most recently it has been pushed as a parralell agenda to the "blame everything on Bush" agenda): "you never want a serious crisis to go to waste". Not a new quote here, but who said this most recently? None other than Obama's # 1 guy and Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel. Another Progressive.
Sometimes (often as of late), politicians use crises to further cement their political agendas by attacking victims when they are down by offering what seems to the victim to be a good thing at the time. A great example would be back when the government created Fannie Mae (1938). This was done during a crisis. Decades later, look at the absolute devastation the program is causing to our housing market (which is what triggered the avalanche of actions that created the current financial crisis - thanks Fannie Mae!!!). Ultimately, that is the consumer's fault; but we should know by now that the average American will never refuse a handout, even if they know it is not what's best for the country.
The quotes are truly endless for Obama. That is the one good thing that comes from his massive ego. That is, he has always craved the spotlight. So all of these radical progressive statements are on video and audio tape all over the place.
I remain confident that America will continue it's current awakening and oust this Wanna-Be-King in 2012!!

GOD-given rights, not GOVERNMENT-given
We can literally go back to the creation of our existence to verify that FREEDOM comes from GOD. Freedom to make our own choices is what separates us from all of God's other creations. Obviously then, from this, we can conclude that God must have thought it was of importantance that humans, and only humans, have this FREEDOM. This RIGHT.
You would think that would be enough to prove that humans were not intended to be ENSLAVED by other humans. Yet that is exactly what the US Government has been working towards for decades. Yes it has been greatly expadited under Obama, but he is hardly responsible for creating the idea or putting the players into place that are needed to push it over the top.
The government is in the later stages of it's plan to make all citizens dependant upon it for basic survival. Our elected officials are taking multiple approaches to accomplish this.
For one group of Americans, it is trying to scare them into submission by oppressing our free economy through fear-mongering (they have the backing of nearly all news outlets and un-bias reporting is a thing of the past), government purchases of puiblicly held companies (the car industry, the banking industry, etc.), unprecidented spending (bail-out, TARP, call it what you will - it is mindless spending that has produced no return), and of course the more traditional acts of blatant lies and taxation (i.e. promises of transperancy, Cap and Trade, and much much more here).
Through another large group of Americans, the government is inticing them into submission through the promises of large-scale, modified, communal living (Healthcare, entitlement programs for lazy Americans, and scaling down of our Military and border security .... amongst many other initiatives).
And there are many smaller groups that are being lured in and/or funneled in through other means. And there are, of course, some that will never give in no matter what is offered or threatened(present!). The underlying tactic here is that the US Government no longer wants to "Teach a man to fish". That would require a long term, large scale reduction in our government. Politicans on both sides of the fence have no interest in this of course. This is precisely why the Republicans are offering no alternatives to the outrageous policy the Democrats are currently shoving down our throats. They simply want to voice disagreement publicly so they increase the likelihood of being re-elected. They actually like the idea of the Democrats succeeding at their agenda right now. That way they can say, "See, I told you so". And no doubt they will. If they do win, which is seeming more likely every day, I will be saying the same thing. The difference is I am a regular citizen, not an elected offical who was voted into my position to represent the people, speak up for the people, and protect our country "from enemies both foreign AND domsetic".
So back to God and free will, freedom, and rights. People throw around the term "God's Will" quite often in life. God has two types of "will". The first is active will. Meaning he can intervine and change an outcome. The other is passive will. Meaning he chooses to not intervine and "allows" a certain outcome. Elected officials are given this same power by the citizens that elect them. They can make things happen or they can watch from the sidelines and do nothing. Exactly what our politicians are doing today. The liberal contengency is taking action, albeit self-destructive action, while the "conservatives" (I use the term very loosely) sit and do nothing more than HOPE for failure. I have a suggestion. GET ON THE FIELD AND PLAY DEFENSE YOU IDOITS!!!!
........ calming down (yeah, right). Simple recap: the Democrats are running out of control doing whatever their little hearts desire right now. The Republicans are whining but offering little or no alternatives. The majority of our population does not want what the Democrats are doing right now to happen. Nor do they approve of the lazy Republican party sitting on the sidelines, offering nothing but a verbal disagreement (I call it whining and "playing the victim").
Conservative Americans, however, are finally getting it - they realize that they have to become what they have always hated about the liberals, ACTIVISTS. And they are doing it. Their elected officals, however, are not. They remain visionless.

"Life, Liberty, and the PURSUIT of Happiness" is not a declaration of a communal society. It is a RIGHT, not an ENTITLEMENT. Our culture does not seem to be able to grasp this. Instead, we seem to be content to just "Give a man a fish" ...... day after day after day after day after day ......

You'll do it and you'll like it!!
Young people are one of the major reasons Obama got voted in. How does he reward them? The health care bill that the Senate is voting on this very second (watching it this morning and praying for a miracle FAILURE ---- actually ..... Reid just voted and then the 51st vote for it came in after that .... so it has now passed and will ehad to the House) REQUIRES our youth (and all Americans) to buy health insurance from someone or they will be fined $750/year.
Even worse, if the young don't buy insurance, the middle aged and older will have higher premiums because the provider's risk is so much higher without the younger, HEALTHIER youth of America participating in their "risk pool" - which helps to offset the costs for Americans as they age and have increased health issues. And whether or not the youth of America participate, which most will not because it is a waste of their money, the citizens that are going to be left paying for this hasty, partisan reform aren't even born yet.
....and not to leave any age group out, the President had an opportunity to use the monies paid back from borrowers from the last TARP to apply toward Medicare for our "seniors"...... did he do it? No. Did he use the monies to pay down the deficit? No. Did he give it back to the Americans he took it from to begin with? No. What did he do with it? He approved a completely new spending bill for the returned monies - which actually violated the TARP bill itself that directed any monies paid back to go towards reducing the deficit.
He has managed to alienate EVERY single age group in this country.
The single scariest thing? There is not ONE poll that wanted this Bill to pass, not even the polls adminstered by liberal groups - not a single poll. Sometimes polls can be mis-leading because they are done so hastly or are too isolated. Not the case here. Remember, Congress has been working on this all year. Hundreds and hundreds of polls have been taken from every imaginable pool of citizens and they were done over months and months ...... and America, both the conservative "cores" and liberal "cores", do NOT want this type of reform.
I think almost every citizen in the country would want reform of some kind if they fully understood the opportunities for us to improve what is already the best healthcare system in the world. As an example: if all citizens were free to buy insurance across statelines, competition would naturally drive costs down. This would not only make it more affordable for more Americans to purchase insurance (IF they wanted to that is), but it would also reduce the debt for those that have insurance --- thus freeing up money for them to put towards that martgage tehy bought that they can't afford or to put back into the economy by spending it thye can afford to - both of which would help the eceonomy and help avoid future "TARP's.
In case you don't know - being able to buy across state lines is not in either the House version of this bill or the Senate's. Why? WHY?? Because that would support capitolism and that goes against this landmark opportunity to pass the first ever REQUIRED ENTITLEMENT. "Required Entitlement" is the language that needs to be used here, but it needs to be explained. Entitlements are things that Socialist governments are made up of. You feel you are "entitled" to everything that your fellow citizens have and the government agrees that you should have it too, regardless of your effort to EARN it. We take this a step further here and actually REQUIRE citizens to particpate in it - or they will be fined $750/year. To my liberal friends, please think about it: the government is requiring our citizens to spend money on INSURANCE. If the citizen chooses not to spend their hard-earned money on INSURANCE, the government will TAKE $750/year from that citizen!!! How can ANYONE support STEALING from our citizens? What's next? They require us to buy certain foods that they decide are healthy for us -- and if we don't, we get FINED via paying higher taxes!!! They decide "mental health" shold fall under their socialist umbrella as well and now they want to fine us for playing certain video games or watching certain movies and even having high-stress jobs like "running a business" or "being a waitress". Those are high stress and bad for our mental states and we aren't mature enough to deal with it ourselves, so we get FINED for putting ourselves in a stressful position ..... WHAT?!!??!?!
That is where we are headed people. This Health Care Bill is the ultimate "gateway drug" and I am sickened by having this crammed down our throats. We are opening the door for the greedy politicians and extreme left to take over every aspect of our lives. The minority is truly dictating over the majority in this country. Not how it's supposed to work people. Please read The Consitution. If you read it and feel that it is wrong, please go start your own country somewhere -- anywhere. Just go away. Seriously, Canada has millions and millions of acres and miles and miles of vacant land. And they already have this crappy healthcare that you want. Go away. We can use the returned TARP monies to buy you land in Canada and build you homes (anything to get rid of you) -- but you can never come back to this great country.
If we do not stop this type of reform in the House in January, I truly do believe we will be using the language "oppression" in the very near future when it comes to the government's relationship with the people that it is supposed to work for and be afraid of. We will all be living lives that they want us to live, instead of the lives of our choosing - that is called oppression.
Even worse, if the young don't buy insurance, the middle aged and older will have higher premiums because the provider's risk is so much higher without the younger, HEALTHIER youth of America participating in their "risk pool" - which helps to offset the costs for Americans as they age and have increased health issues. And whether or not the youth of America participate, which most will not because it is a waste of their money, the citizens that are going to be left paying for this hasty, partisan reform aren't even born yet.
....and not to leave any age group out, the President had an opportunity to use the monies paid back from borrowers from the last TARP to apply toward Medicare for our "seniors"...... did he do it? No. Did he use the monies to pay down the deficit? No. Did he give it back to the Americans he took it from to begin with? No. What did he do with it? He approved a completely new spending bill for the returned monies - which actually violated the TARP bill itself that directed any monies paid back to go towards reducing the deficit.
He has managed to alienate EVERY single age group in this country.
The single scariest thing? There is not ONE poll that wanted this Bill to pass, not even the polls adminstered by liberal groups - not a single poll. Sometimes polls can be mis-leading because they are done so hastly or are too isolated. Not the case here. Remember, Congress has been working on this all year. Hundreds and hundreds of polls have been taken from every imaginable pool of citizens and they were done over months and months ...... and America, both the conservative "cores" and liberal "cores", do NOT want this type of reform.
I think almost every citizen in the country would want reform of some kind if they fully understood the opportunities for us to improve what is already the best healthcare system in the world. As an example: if all citizens were free to buy insurance across statelines, competition would naturally drive costs down. This would not only make it more affordable for more Americans to purchase insurance (IF they wanted to that is), but it would also reduce the debt for those that have insurance --- thus freeing up money for them to put towards that martgage tehy bought that they can't afford or to put back into the economy by spending it thye can afford to - both of which would help the eceonomy and help avoid future "TARP's.
In case you don't know - being able to buy across state lines is not in either the House version of this bill or the Senate's. Why? WHY?? Because that would support capitolism and that goes against this landmark opportunity to pass the first ever REQUIRED ENTITLEMENT. "Required Entitlement" is the language that needs to be used here, but it needs to be explained. Entitlements are things that Socialist governments are made up of. You feel you are "entitled" to everything that your fellow citizens have and the government agrees that you should have it too, regardless of your effort to EARN it. We take this a step further here and actually REQUIRE citizens to particpate in it - or they will be fined $750/year.
