The "Race Card"

Sickened today. Absolutely sickened. Although race will always be a topic of discussion and a point of disagreement, this is not a RACIST country. Some Americans, both black and white, are denying that we have moved beyond that label because it doesn't play into their personal and political agendas. Acknowledging that we are post-racial forces us to hold ourselves accountable. It means we can no longer play the victim. It means that we are being held to our values based strictly on our values and not on the color of our skin. It forces us to look ourselves in the mirror for who we truly are. It's called TRUTH. Values define our citizens, not race.

I live in North Carolina. I have lived in Raleigh, in Charlotte, on the coast, in the country, and now live in the foothills near Hickory - with the intention of moving to the mountains of Asheville in the near future. I have also lived in South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Californina, Idaho, Washington, and aboard several Naval ships while serving in the Marine Corps. I have visited countless countries on 5 continents. I have been in management for the past 11 years and currently work as a personnel manager with an international company that has over 300,000 employees. I am only 35. ........You could say that I've been around.

I say all of that to establish my credibility on having an opinion on this matter. Here are some more facts for you. I was not raised around very many people that were any race other than white. I was raised in a home with a step-father that was very racist, but he never even knew a black person. I was also raised watching every episode of The Cosby Show (yes, my step-father watched every episode with us and laughed just as hard as we did!!). 14% of Americans are black. 85% of all NBA players are black. 65% of all NFL players are black. 22% of all North Carolinians are black. Just over 20% of the entire Army is made up of black people. The entertainment arena is dominated by black people. 100% of sitting US Presidents are black. (couldn't help but point that last one out!!!)

I could go on ........ Let me say this one again though: 14% of the US population is black. Look at the rest of those numbers again. Now look at this one: the day that President Obama took office, a whopping SEVENTY PERCENT of this country approved of him!!!! Now, I don't have a college education, but I am pretty sure that if 14% of the country is black, and 70% of the country supported him, there must be, oh about 180 MILLION white people that supported this black man (yes, I took into consideration that there were some hispanics that supported him and that some blacks did not). How can anyone say that this country is still a racist country?? How can ANYONE say that black people are not treated AT LEAST as "good" as whites? America has come a long way and I am very proud of that!!! I have lived in more places and been exposed to more types of culture than 99% of the people in this country. I have seen racist white people and racist black people living all over this world. I have met white people that "act" blacker than some black people I know and some black people that are "whiter" than my grandma. There will always be those that are racist. One last point on this before I move on. Why did 90%+ of all blacks vote for Obama? Why are white people afraid to answer that question? I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that if you were to take the Presidential candidate's names OFF the ballot, and instead list only their VALUES, that no where near 90% of blacks would have voted for Obama.

Ok. Moving on. I am no racist. Not at all. But I am not afraid to talk about race. To some, the fact that I am white and make it a point to clarify that I am not a racist, and that I am willing to talk about race, makes me a racist. Again, let's all write down our values on a piece of paper and take away the skin color and the names. That is TRUTH. Embrace it.

Here is my opinion on the current race card being played. I am an activist. I am personally, actively involved with rallies, protests, and movements in this country. I witness events personally. I then watch the liberal media distort these events to fit their radical agenda. They go out of their way to create lies in an attempt to protect the man they want to push their liberal desires. They make claims that anyone disagreeing with Obama's policies is a racist. White poeple are leading the way in this movement, by the way. Carter is a big name that has joined this approach, but is hardly the biggest offender.

Our country has a long history of harshly critiqueing politicians, especially our President. Yet now that we are questioning this liberal President, who happens to be balck, we are being labeled as racists. Using that same logic, why wasn't the critiqueing of the prior 43 Presidents considered racist? Why were we "allowed" to call Bush a liar, but not Obama? Why were people allowed to protest against Bush Sr., Bill Clinton, Carter, Reagan, Nixon and every other President we have ever had ------ and, in ALL of those cases have the media cover it as NEWS; but now those same "news" channels claim racist motives every time a white person challenges this President? Challenging politicians is an American Pasttime. Attempting to make this a racial issue is racist in itself, yes; but worse, it is a LIE. It is UN-American. Worst of all, it is going un-checked because so many are afraid to confront their accusers out of fear that they will personally be labeled a racist. Several big names on FOX News ARE stepping up and addressing this. Kudos to them. For me, I will address ANYTHING that is UN-American.

The President himself refuses to get invovled in this race dispute. That could be taken a couple of different ways. I personally will give him the benefit of the doubt that it is because he doesn't want to make this argument "legitimate". Just like he ignored the hundreds of thousands of us that marched on Washington on 9/12 because he didn't want our voice to be heard.

Now for the good news. Unfortunately, the liberal left is playing the race card. The reason they are playing it is because they are LOSING. They are losing their fight to pass government run healthcare. They are losing their fight to pass Cap and Trade. They are losing their fight to push through yet another "bail-out". They are losing their fight to force employees to give up their right to a secret ballot. They are losing their fight to increase taxes. They are losing their fight to financially ENSLAVE all of us. The liberal left is desperate. Very desperate. This is good news.

8 months after taking the greatest office in the land, President Obama has seen his support fall from 70% to 42%. This is because of his VALUES. He LIED to those that voted for him. His TRUE color is shining through and it is "yeller"!!! Yes, that means COWARD.

It is time to SPEAK OUT!!!

I am SO tired of hearing the media being referred to as the "mainstream media". That title should be reserved for media outlets that are reporting on MAINSTREAM issues. ABC, CBS, and NBC can no longer be counted on to report the news. The news is fact. It happens whether you want it to or not. Media outlets should report those facts and that's it. They should keep their opinon out of it. Unfortunately, these "fringe media outlets" ("fringe" because they are reporting on things that are 2nd, 3rd tier news - or even lower - instead of actual MAINSTREAM issues!!!) are reporting only what fits their POLITICAL agenda. That's not news, that is pure and simple bias. Like I said, the news is FACT - whether you agree with it or not, it happened. That's why it's NEWS. Otherwise, it's called OPINION. I am fine with people having an opinion. What I am not fine with is them disguising it as NEWS.

If you haven't contacted your representatives yet, you had better get on it. If you don't, congress WILL continue to see how fast they can shove their personal agendas down our throats!! INCLUDING controlling media outlets. The "Fairness Doctrine" is going to take the few consertaive voices out there off the air. The next natural step in that evolution is to shut off ANY critics of the liberal left.

The "fringe media" will not just wake up tomorrow and start reporting un-biasly. WE THE PEOPLE have got to get our voices out there. I have always said that failure to vote is a vote FOR whoever ends up winning - because you didn't vote against them, you didn't cancel out someone else's vote FOR them. You gave THEIR vote meaning by not cancelling it out with YOUR vote. That same logic applies to our daily activities. We have to "vote" every day. There is a saying at the carnival: "the LOUDEST CARNY gets the business!!!!" For decades, the liberal left has had the courage to speak out for THEIR interests. We conservative and moderate Americans sat by thinking "we will never have to worry about those radicals taking over our country". Guess what? THEY HAVE!!! Failure to speak out by you and me on EVERY SINGLE ISSUE is a vote AGAINST our freedom!!!

It is time to become an ACTIVIST!! YES, ACTIVE. That means that you have to actually do something. Someone else can't get us out of this hole we are in. It will take ALL of us, working together. Visit your representative. Call them. E-mail them. Locally - you need to call your mayor, your governer, and even stop by the county commissioner's office and speak your mind. WE THE PEOPLE means that change starts from the bottom, NOT from the top!!!! The current government, Republicans and Democrats alike, seem to be ignoring this. They have not forgotten it - they are IGNORING it. Defying it because WE ARE LETTING THEM.

Stop letting them take OUR country. SPEAK UP!!!!

March on Washington - liberal media coverage

I can't say enough how glad I am that I decided to make the drive up to DC on 9/11 for the 9/12 march on the Capitol. I have been to a lot of web-sites, and the coverage that the liberal media is giving this MAJOR EVENT is pathetic and mis-leading - at least it is from the few that are covering it, most are not even recognizing it AT ALL.

I personally participated in a small accosting of the CNN team that showed up for the event. That felt nice. We chanted "Tell the Truth" to the camera team and reporter. Some also chanted "Fox News Rules" and even "Glenn Beck Rules". I agree with those two statements but did not chant with them as our little "mini-protest" within the protest wasn't about media competition, but honest media reporting for ALL. Nevertheless, it was pretty darn funny!

I am struggling to find a single liberal site today that has anywhere near accurate numbers on how many people attended the march. Most say "thousands" or maybe "tens of thousands". Try HUNDREDS of thousands and perhaps over 1 million (one conservative site actually reports 2 million, but I have to question that).

You cannot trust the media. Has it really come to that in AMERICA? For decades our media has taken shots at other countries, most of which were/are run by dictators, that have media that refuses to TELL THE TRUTH. They are either "in the tank" for their leader or are "under the thumb" of their leader. Either way, that isn't freedom. Yet now our major tv networks are doing the EXACT SAME THING as those they called out.

Does that mean we are now living in a country that is run by a DICTATOR? Better wake up America. This isn't a damn game. Your children's future is being taken from them, perhaps before they are even born. The media is HELPING that cause.

Imagine the pressure our representatives, senators, and President would all feel if the media would just report THE TRUTH. The media isn't going to. YOU have to. I have too. We ALL have to SPEAK OUT!!!! The time is NOW!!!

I just visited the Vietnam War Memorial here in our Capitol. 58,000 names on the Wall. How can this administration and it's followers so carelessly endanger everything that these men died for?

How could WE allow them to endanger it?

We have to become ACTIVE, we have to insist that our VOICES be heard, we have to INSIST on change, and we have to do all of this in numbers that have never been united with one single voice before. True "Shock and Awe"!!!!!

GREAT NEWS!!! On my way to DC today, I got a call from a friend who decided at the last minute that he HAD to go too!!! So, I am waiting for him to catch up with me so we can park his car and head the rest of the way together!!!

What 9/12 is all about....

The 9/12Project is simply a group of Patriots that refuse to forget the feeling of pride, love, compassion, and unity that we all felt when we woke up the day after 9/11/2001. Do you remember how you felt? I do. And, unlike the Obamas, I was proud to be an American (remember, they said that, after Obama was elected , it was the first time in their lives they felt proud to be Americans - their words, not mine).

Today, I am headed out to show unity with others who feel the way I do, by marching on the US Capitol tomorrow. Although there are always a certain amount of crazies at any demonstration, the root of this movement is not that of the radical Right, or the radical Left. It is about Common Sense. Less Government. Less Taxes. Less Bail-outs. Less wasteful spending. Less "Washington as Usual". More "By the people". We seem to have forgotten who works for whom in this country.

If you cannot make it, please take a minute to catch some of the coverage on TV. Or, more importantly, take some time to reflect on how you felt that morning after 9/11. Did you run out and buy a flag and then not replace it a couple of years later when it wore out? Did you commit to not allowing the government to leave us that vulnerable again and then vote for "change" based on popularity? Or did you not sleep at night, cry real tears, and still find yourself with goose bumps 8 years later when you hear Alan Jackson sing "Where Were You When The World Stop Turning"???


I love this country. I refuse to let these Socialists take it from my kids.

Why does the richest country in the world still have poor people?

The single scariest quote I have heard since we entered the "Era of B.O." (yes, B.O. is short for Barack Obama, immature I know - I just can't help it) is from a woman at a B.O. rally that, scarily, represents the mindset of the majority of B.O. "followers". This pathetic excuse for an American, Peggy Joseph, actually said, and yes this is a quote, “I won’t have to worry about putting gas in my car. I won’t have to worry about paying my mortgage”.

So what does this have to do with my subject? As always, the issues go far deeper than the surface. The CULTURE is shifting. This woman's statement is a microcosm of the world B.O. would build if he were The Architect. In his self-absorbed mind, Obama truly believes the world will be better if there were NO separation in classes. No rich. No poor. He truly believes this. (Himself excluded, of course!)

This COMPLETELY goes against human nature though. Remember the slogan "Keeping up with the Jones'"? That mindset is so bred into our blood that we even let it be the cause of the current recession we are in. Having more, more, more has become so important to us that we are addicted to it. We truly do not know when to say "when". Bigger house, nicer car, more "stuff". It is why we are in the financial situation we are in. It is also why we will recover from this eventually and why we will be here again someday.

So if the desire to "move up a class level" is what causes our demise every few decades, why do we keep doing it? Why don't we embrace Socialism? That would make EVERYONE "the Jones'". We would ALL have the same house, the same car, the same "stuff". There would never be a recession because supply and demand would be stabilized and would remain completely predictable, indefinitely. Sounds great, right?

Never going to happen. We are too greedy. We are not willing to make the sacrifices it takes to live this way - UNIVERSALLY. Remember, we would ALL be EXACTLY the same. Drones. Robots. Humanless. We do not have it in us. We are entirely too competitive. No matter where "average" is established on the income totem-pole, there will always be those who want more - and that are actually willing and capable of doing what it takes to "get ahead". There will also always be those that say "I would give ANYTHING to play golf like Tiger Woods", but don't EVER give real consideration to the sacrifice and ability it takes to be able to golf like Tiger. Tiger EARNS every million he makes.

My all-time favorite is the person who complains non-stop about how tight they are on money and how evil those money-grubbing companies are that are making a fortune by over-charging them for the gas they put in their entirely-too-big-SUV, the rising costs of cigarettes, junk food, and alcohol ...... all while they eat their $10 burger and talk about how they wish they could lose 40-50 pounds.

Did you catch how many things are wrong with that description? Did you really? THAT is why there will always be poor people in the richest country in the world. Some people wish they could have others pay for their mortgage and gas while others would never dream of taking a single dime that they didn't EARN. "Classes" are inevitable in a Capitolist nation. Quit fighting it so much and spend that energy doing the things that rich people do - like WORKING, SACRIFICING, and SAVING THEIR MONEY!!

If you want more, shut up and go EARN IT. Leave me and my stuff alone. I pay taxes and give to charitable donations WILLINGLY. Please do not take my hard-earned money from my children and from the charitable organizations of my choice by taxing me to the point that I don't have a dime left-over. Stop Obama and his socialist inner-circle and his "followers". Contact your congressman and VOTE for CAPITOLISM in 2010!!
